Privacy in FredeMMO
FredeMMO only stores what it needs for you to play with an account. Here is what that is, why, and how you delete it.
What we store
- Your account: your username and your password. The password is only stored as a one-way fingerprint (scrypt), so nobody can read it, not even whoever runs the game.
- If you use "Continue with Google": only Google's number for your Google account, so we know it is you the next time. We do not get or keep your e-mail address, your name or anything else from Google, and an account made this way has no password until you set one.
- Chat: everything you write in the chat is stored, with no end date: General, party chat and whispers, with the time and who it was to. It is kept so those who look after the game can deal with abuse. In the game you only see what is written after you log in. Other players see General, the whispers sent to them and the party lines they were part of; only those who look after the game can read the rest.
- Your progress: level, gold, gear, quests and where you stand in the world.
- Your block list: the names of the players you have blocked, so the list follows you to other devices.
- Reports: if you report a player, we store who reported, who was reported, the reason and the reported player's latest chat lines, so the report can be assessed.
- A login cookie: a random key that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. It is needed for the game to work. A sign-in with Google uses two more short cookies, for at most 10 minutes, to finish it safely. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not keep
- Your IP address: is used briefly in memory to slow down too many login attempts and is not stored.
- Groups and trades only exist while you play.
- Your browser and device: when you start playing, we count which kind of browser, system and device you use (for example Chrome, Windows, computer), the network type your browser reports (for example Wi-Fi or 4G) and your ping. Only daily totals are kept, never linked to you, so we can find lag and display problems.
Who can see what
Other players can see your username, your knight in the world, your level and your bounties in the Hall of Heroes, and what you write in the chat. No other players can see the rest of your information.
Delete your data
Under Account → Delete account in the game you delete your account, your progress, your block list, your login sessions and the chat lines you wrote at once. Reports you have made remain, without your name. Reports about you remain, so they can still be assessed.
